India, Myanmar sign agreed minutes on bilateral issues

New Delhi, July 11: (pti) The eighth national level meeting between India and Myanmar to discuss security, border trade and other issues of mutual concerns concluded here today with the signing of agreed minutes.

New Delhi, July 11: (pti) The eighth national level meeting
between India and Myanmar to discuss security, border trade and other issues of mutual concerns concluded here today with the signing of agreed minutes.

The Myanmar delegation was led by Brig Gen Thura Myint
Maung, deputy minister, ministry of home affairs, while the
Indian side was led by home secretary Kamal Pande.

Thura met Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani and minister
of state for External Affairs Digvijay Singh.

The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere
and provided both countries with an opportunity to interact
on a wide range of issues on security related matters,
particularly relating to control of militancy and border
management issues, according to an official release.

It also reviewed the progress of a wide range of cross
border development projects.
