Dhanbad (Jharkhand), Apr 02: A senior leader of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Hafiz Ansari, was seriously injured when unidentified assailants fired at him and threw bombs on his car here last night, police said today.
The injured JMM leader was rushed to Ranchi Hospital after being initially treated at a nursing home at Gobindpur, 15 kms from here, police said.
However, according to unofficial sources the JMM leader
had identified his assailants and put their number at seven.
Sources at the Gobindpur Police Station said that a suspect had been arrested in connection with the attack.
The police however, could not immediately ascertain the
reason behind the attack.
Meanwhile, a close associate of Hafiz, Gullu Ansari, also of the JMM, alleged that coal mafia active in the area had a hand in the assault.
