Mumbai, Apr 20: Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Ajit Jogi, who developed chest congestion last Friday following a spine surgery, is "stable and improving", according to neurosurgeon Dr C E Deopujari attending on him.
"By tomorrow we hope to remove Jogi's breathing
apparatus," Deopujari told.

Breathing parameters of Jogi, who was injured during an
accident on April 11, "have shown good progress, but he would
be under observation in ICU", doctors said.

The 59-year-old Jogi, whose electoral fate would be
sealed today in Mahsamund Lok Sabha constituency, had suffered
severe spinal and head injuries on April 11 when his car
dashed against a tree. He was flown to Mumbai the same day and
was operated at Bombay hospital.

AICC president Sonia Gandhi was to visit Jogi yesterday but could not make it.
