Lucknow, May 26: The Uttar Pradesh crime branch,
investigating into the Madhumita murder case, has sent samples
of her foetus to Hyderabad for DNA testing, police sources
said today.

The sources said the sample of the foetus has been
sent with "some specific queries in order to crack the
murder," that led to the sacking to State Minister Amarmani
Tripathi who allegedly had close links with Madhumita.

They said the focus of investigation is likely to shift
to Tripathi's wife, Madhurmani following "startling" notings
in the diary mainatined by Madhumita now in the possession of
the CB-CID.

Madhumita had mentioned in the diary that she was seven
months pregnant and had been advised not to go in for abortion
as it might prove fatal, the sources said adding that she
also stated that she had terminated her pregnancy twice on
earlier occasions.

The diary also finds mention of Madhurmani who she wrote
"had threatened her with dire consequences in case she
maintained her relationship with her (Madhurmani's) husband,"
the sources said.
