Kolkata: Congress leader and Union Minister
Sachin Pilot today expressed hope that the current drive by
Youth Congress would create record membership.

"I hope record membership and you will get results in the
next 6-8 weeks," the Minister of State for Communications and
IT told the media at the BSNL office after launching a scheme.

Pilot and other party leaders are carrying out small
meetings across the state for the proposed rally of Congress
general secretary Rahul Gandhi on September 6 in West Bengal.

He denied that this membership drive was targeted at the
coming state assembly elections.

"We are here to strengthen the roots of Congress party in
the state," Pilot said.

The membership drive had been carried out in 14 states of
the country.

Pilot asked the youths of Bengal to become stakeholders
in the decision making process of the country.

In West Bengal, he had campaigned in Hoogly and Howrah and
today he went to Barasat.
