Surjeet hospitalised

Hoshiarpur, May 04: Veteran CPI (M) leader Harkishan Singh Surjeet was admitted to hospital today after he suddenly took ill and complained of uneasiness in the chest, party sources said here.

Doctors at the private hospital in Mohali described his condition as "stable".

Surjeet, who had come here for campaigning and was staying in a hotel, suddenly took ill and complained of "chest unrest".

A team of doctors was rushed to the hotel who referred him to the hospital in Mohali.

Dr Yogesh Chander Markan told reporters that the veteran CPI-M leader complained of mild fever, chest unrest and
giddiness in the morning.

"His blood pressure was normal but mild variation was found in his ECG report". Surjeet's personal doctor in Delhi was contacted in this connection, he said.

Surjeet had called a press conference this morning in connection with the election campaign of Darshan Singh Mattu, CPM candidate from Hoshiarpur parliamentary constituency.
