Three detained in PM's grandnephew murder case

Lucknow, Jan 29: In a major breakthrough, the Uttar Pradesh police today detained three persons in connection with the gruesome killing of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's grandnephew Manish Mishra at Mathura on Saturday last.

States Additional Director General of Police (Railways) B K Bhalla
confirming the detention of the three people in the case, said the
detention was made jointly by the Mathura district police and the
GRP.

However, he did not disclose the identity of the persons detained
but revealed that they were taken into custody while they were
travelling in a train near Kosikala.

Meanwile, after releasing computer sketches of the culprits, the
state police is likely to announce a reward on the heads of the
assailants involved in the gruesome killing of Mr Mishra near
Kosikala.

Mr Bhalla, who held a preliminary inquiry into the incident on
Monday, has submitted his report to the state government. Refusing
to disclose anything on his report, he hinted that the government
might announce cash rewards for the arrest of the culprits.

The UP police had already released six computer sketches of the
assailants while three other sketches were ready for release.
