New Delhi: In what could be called as an alarm signal, technology giants Google and Facebook Silicon Valley headquarters are at risk of being flooded due to rise in the sea level.

Rising sea levels come across as a threatening to submerge the property owned by the much-in-news tech giants.

Sea level forecasts performed by a group of scientists shows that the Silicon Valley bases for Google and Facebook are at a potential risk of being flooded. This stands even under perfect scenarios where rapid cuts in greenhouse gas emissions avoid the most severe sea level increases.

As per a coalition of scientists, Social media giant Facebook's campus seems most at risk. However, the situation seems to be better at Google as it is located at a higher site.
