Internet sleuths may have come close to discovering an alien spaceship after a Russian UFO enthusiast shared pictures of what seems like a crashed UFO in the South Pole snow, via Google Maps.

The alleged remains of the crashed UFO and the Google Maps coordinates have since gone viral.

According to alien hunter Valentin Degretev, the object is a 'classic' shaped UFO and estimated the size of the object as roughly 204-foot across.

To see the tantalizing image for yourself, type 80°34'08.4"S 30°05’19.3"W into the search bar on Google Maps and set it to the satellite 'Earth' view.

However, others don't seem too excited, but are skeptical about the claim that the shape is the remains of a UFO, dismissing it to be a crack in the ice, otherwise known as a crevasse.
