Assam unified command structure reconstituted

Guwahati: The Unified Command structure,
formed to combat militancy in Assam, has been reconstituted.

According to official sources this has been done to
operationalise action against militant groups active in the
state.

The reconstitution has led to the inclusion of the
director generals of police of Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh
as special invitees in view of the fact that militants tend to
cross over to the neighbouring states.
