Opposition not letting assembly function: Rajasthan minister Rajendra Rathore

Rajasthan Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rajendra Rathore and Leader of Opposition Rameshwar Dudi today traded barbs over the stalling of proceedings in the state Assembly.

Jaipur: Rajasthan Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rajendra Rathore and Leader of Opposition Rameshwar Dudi today traded barbs over the stalling of proceedings in the state Assembly.

After the House was adjourned for the day following uproar, Rathore held the Opposition solely responsible for the adjournment and said they are not allowing the Assembly to function for no reason.

"The government is ready to give reply on all issues but they (Opposition) need to raise the issues under the rules of business," he told reporters.

On the other hand, Dudi alleged that the state government is running away from giving replies on important issues raised by the Opposition.

"The government is running away from its responsibility.

There are issues related with youths, farmers, labourers and Dalits which need to be addressed by the government but the government is running away instead of giving replies," he said.

The Speaker adjourned the House for the day following heated arguments between the Opposition and the ruling BJP on Specially Backward Classes reservation issue.
