Govt declares Jaipur as a "Metropolitan" area

Jaipur: The Government of Rajasthan
on Saturday declared Jaipur region as a "Metropolitan" area, an
official said.

The Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot accorded permission on
a proposal moved by the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA)
under section 243-p of the Constitution, the official said.

Integrated development works, especially a Metro Rail
Project announced with the DMRC last month, will be undertaken
soon, the official said.
