 The desert state of Rajasthan continued to reel under cold wave conditions with many places recording minimum temperatures under 5 degree Celsius and dense fog affecting the movement of trains.

Jaipur: The desert state of Rajasthan continued to reel under cold wave conditions with many places recording minimum temperatures under 5 degree Celsius and dense fog affecting the movement of trains.

17 trains were running late and four were cancelled due to foggy conditions. The trains are running late from few hours to up to 12 hours, according to a North Western Railway spokesperson here.

Fog and ground frost were also seen in some areas of the state, particularly in Sri Ganganagar and nearby areas.

Meanwhile, the mercury remained below freezing point at minus 0.6 degree Celsius in Mount Abu, the sole hill station in state, MeT department said.

Pilani turned out to the coldest in plains, recording a minimum of 1.9 degree Celsius followed by Bikaner and Sri Ganganagar shivering at 3.1 degrees Celsius and 3.2 degrees Celsius respectively.

The night temperatures at both Churu and Sikar settled at 3.5 degrees Celsius.

Udaipur's low settled at 4.6 degrees Celsius while Sawai Madhopur recorded a minimum of 4.7 degrees Celsius.

Jaisalmer and Jalore both recorded a minimum temperature of 4.8 degrees Celsius.

The minimum temperatures in Vanasthali, Jaipur, Bundi, Chittorgarh, Kota, Barmer and Jodhpur were recorded at 5.2, 5.7, 6, 6.3, 7.8, 8 and 8.2 degrees Celsius respectively.
