Now, smart bikini that stops you from getting sunburned

London: A smart bikini that measures exposure to ultraviolet radiation and alerts wearers when they are at risk of getting sunburned has been developed by a French company.

The Spinali bikini is equipped with a waterproof sensor to measure ultraviolet radiation exposure and sends information to the wearer's smartphone, which warns the user to top up the suncream or seek shade.

Users can input their skin type into a smartphone app to ensure that the alarm goes off at the right moment, 'The Times' reported.

Marie Spinali, who founded Spinali Design in Mulhouse, got the idea of a smart bikini when she saw someone get sunburned on the beach.

"After all there are flower pots that tell you when the plants need watering, so we should invent something for when the sun is too hot," Spinali said.

The smart bikinis are priced between 149 euros and 198 euros.
