Pakistan has massed two dozen Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) at Mianwali airbase in Sialkot, about 15 km from the Line of Control (LoC), and has also moved in eight armoured regiments from its Fourth Corps to the 'Chhamb Corridor'.
Highly-placed security sources said in told UNI in Jammu, Thursday afternoon that the UAVs, of Chinese origin, have a range of five to seven km and are all-weather aircraft.

''These UAVs have high resolution cameras fitted in them and are capable of transmitting hundreds of images within a few minutes to the command centres. The centres in turn brief the corps commanders on location of targets and also operational routes,'' they said.

Meanwhile, the Pakistani army has ferried in the armoured regiments over the past 48 hours from its Fourth Corps stationed at Lahore.

These eight regiments have formed ''defensive formations'' soon after their arrival and are actively assisting Special Services Group (SSG) personnel in the work of installing heavy-calibre weaponry about a kilometre from the LoC.

Reports said the Pakistani army has moved its sixth division to Punjab from Jammu region. The personnel have been deployed across the Punjab border at Wagah, Attari and Gurdaspur region to bolster the ranks already deployed there.
