Islamabad: A Taliban commander linked to
several attacks on security forces was killed by troops in the
restive Swat valley in Pakistan`s northwest, from where 11
other militants were also captured, authorities said today.
Militant commander Siddique alias Abu Zar was gunned down
during a clash with security forces in Charbagh sub-division
of Swat, the army-run media centre said.
Two of his aides were captured after being injured in the
gun battle.
Two assault rifles, a pistol and a wireless set were
recovered from their possession.
Siddique had been linked to several attacks on security
forces.
In the troubled Khyber tribal region, security forces
arrested nine militants, including a commander named Sher Ali,
in Bara sub-division, officials said.
