No letter from murdered woman`s family for CBI probe: UP cops

Uttar Pradesh police on Monday said it has so far not received any letter demanding CBI inquiry into the brutal rape and murder of a young woman in Mohanlalganj area.

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh police on Monday said it has so far not received any letter demanding CBI inquiry into the brutal rape and murder of a young woman in Mohanlalganj area of the state capital.

"We have not yet received any letter from the family members of the victim demanding CBI inquiry.... When we get a letter in this regard a decision would be taken," IG Law and Order Amrendra Sengar told newspersons here.

The family members of the victim had yesterday demanded CBI inquiry into the case expressing dissatisfaction over the probe being carried out by Lucknow police.
The nude body of the woman, who was brutally murdered after she had resisted rape bid, was spotted near a primary school in Balsingh Khera village of Mohanlalganj tehsil here on July 17.
The Uttar Pradesh Police yesterday arrested one guard of a private security firm in connection with her murder.
