SP nominee files nomination for RS bypoll in UP

SP candidate Alok Tiwari filed nomination for the by-election to one Rajya Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh.

Lucknow: SP candidate Alok Tiwari on Thursday filed nomination for the bye-election to one Rajya Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh.
Alok, son of former Rajya Sabha member Brij Bhushan Tiwari, filed his nomination before returning officer Pradeep Dubey, in presence of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, Revenue Minister Ambika Chaudhary and some other senior leaders.
The by-election has been necessitated following death of Alok`s father. Brij Bhushan had died a day after taking oath as a Rajya Sabha member in April.
