WB govt to initiate more welfare measures for Muslims: CM

In a bid to woo minority voters ahead of next year`s WB Assembly polls, CM Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee on Tuesday said his government would initiate more welfare measures for Muslims and provide them jobs and education facilities.

Kolkata: In a bid to woo minority voters ahead of next year`s West Bengal Assembly polls, Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee on Tuesday said his government would initiate more welfare measures for Muslims and provide them jobs and education facilities.
"Left Front government is committed to uplift the
minorities in West Bengal and do its best for their welfare,"
he said launching a vocational training course of Alia
University here.

He said the state government would spend Rs 30 crore for
the purpose.
The chief minister said the state government would ensure
that under no circumstance Muslim students are forced to leave
study for want of money.
