Melbourne: Soon after defeating Roger Federer in their Australian Open men's semi-final, Novak Djokovic said that playing against the Swiss legend has made him a better player.

The Serb, who has often praised Federer and Rafael Nadal, once again credited both the legends for his success.

"Playing over a 100 matches with Federer and Nadal made me a better player," the five-time Australian Open champion said at the Rod Laver Arena.

Djokovic defeated Federer 6-1, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 at the Rod Laver Arena to move into his 17th consecutive Grand Slam final.

With his win today, Djokovic has surpassed the Swiss maestro 23-22 in their head-to-head record.

The 10-time major champion is now looking to match Roy Emerson's all-time record of six Australian Open titles.
