COVID-19: Asia Cup 2021 cancelled due to pandemic

The tournament which was originally scheduled to be held in September, 2020 in Sri Lanka was moved to June, 2021 due to Covid-19. However, the unrelenting pandemic has played spoilsport again.

Asia Cup: Pakistan board chief Ehsan Mani rules out 2021 edition

Mani said he hasn’t officially received any information on the reports of India sending its ‘B’ team for the Asia Cup. Mani said the revenue earned from the Asia Cup will be spend on promoting cricket in associate countries. Mani also disclosed that the ICC had assured the PCB about Pakistan's participation in the World T20 this year in India.

Asia Cup will be postponed to 2023 if India make WTC final: PCB chief

Pakistan was the host of the Asia Cup but due to political tensions with India, they were forced to surrender the hosting rights to Sri Lanka. The PCB chairman also talked about getting the written assurance from the BCCI by next month for Pakistan players, officials, fans and journalists’ visas for the upcoming T20 World Cup in India. The World Test Championship (WTC) final is slated at Lord’s from June 18-22 and it is expected to clash with the Asia Cup 2021 schedule.
