Elgar Parishad case: No NIA action till HC hears Varavara Rao's medical bail

Rao, an accused in the Elgar Parishad-Maoist links case is supposed to surrender before the Taloja prison authorities on September 5. Rao's counsel, senior advocate Anand Grover, sought an extension of bail before a bench of Justices SS Shinde and NJ Jamadar on Friday.

It was revealed that senior leaders of CPI (Maoist) were in contact with the organizers of Elgar Parishad as well as the accused arrested in the case so as to spread the ideology of Maoism/Naxalism The Pune Police filed chargesheet and a supplementary chargesheet in this case on November 15, 2018, and February 21, 2019, respectively The NIA took up the investigation of the case on January 24 this year and arrested the three accused persons

NIA arrests Delhi University professor accused in Bhima Koregaon case

Pune Police had filed a charge sheet in this case on November 15, 2018. NIA took up the investigation of the case on January 24, 2020, and had arrested two accused in April 2020. 54-year old was working as an Associate Professor in the Department of English.
