independence day Special 2001: भारत ने बनाया नया रिकॉर्ड, पिलाई 15 करोड़ बच्चों को पोलियो की खुराक
भारत ने इस साल ऐतिहासिक सफलता पाई, जहां अब तक की सबसे बड़ी टीकाकरण परियोजनाओं में से एक में भारत भर में 150 मिलियन बच्चों को पोलियो के खिलाफ प्रतिरक्षित किया गया. बता दें कि भारत ने विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन वैश्विक पोलियो उन्मूलन प्रयास के परिणामस्वरूप 1995 में पल्स पोलियो टीकाकरण कार्यक्रम आरंभ किया, इस कार्यक्रम के तहत 5 वर्ष से कम आयु के सभी बच्चों को पोलियो समाप्त होने तक हर वर्ष दिसम्बर और जनवरी माह में ओरल पोलियो टीके की दो खुराकें दी गई, ये अभियान सफल सिद्ध हुआ और भारत में पोलियोमाइलिटिस की दर में काफी कमी आई
