Netherlands witnesses first COVID-19 reinfection death in world; check details

The Dutch woman was not the only case of coronavirus reinfection in the world, as there have also been reports of secondary infection events with SARS-CoV-2 from the United States, Hong Kong, Belgium and Ecuador. In the US, a 25-year-old from Reno (Nevada) reportedly contracted the virus in April after showing mild symptoms, then got sick again in late May with a more serious bout.

Woman found reinfected with COVID-19 in Bengaluru, reports hospital

The woman, who does not have any comorbidities, fell victim to the virus for the first time in July with mild symptoms of cough and fever. Following treatment, she recovered and was discharged. According to the doctor, some reinfection cases may not produce antibodies and even if they develop, they may not last longer, allowing the virus to renter the body for a newer infection.
