Lockdown anniversary: Films which couldn't release in cinema halls
Along with the entire nation, the Indian film industry too came to a standstill following the enforcement of coronavirus-induced lockdown on March 24, 2020. Last year at this time, the Indian film industry witnessed abondoned film sets, shut cinema halls and no films being released. Much like its contemporaries, Bollywood too was torn between the choice of a digital release or a postponed theatrical release. While certain makers decided to not wait for the return of normalcy and release their movies on OTT platforms, there were a few who decided to give themselves for time and release their film on the silver screens after they reopens.

Lockdown anniversary: Films which released on OTT platform due to pandemic
The Indian film and television industry turned upside down and came to a standstill when coronavirus lockdown was enforced first on March 24, 2020. Film shoots were halted and theatres remained deserted for several months, which led to postponement upcoming movies or shifting their release to digital platforms. At such a time, OTT platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney+Hotstar helped filmmakers’ reach out to an audience for their films.
