Demonetisation: Deadline to deposit the junked Rs 500, Rs 1,000 notes in banks ends

People still have time to exchange the currency notes at designated RBI counters till March 31 after giving valid reasons for not depositing defunct notes in their accounts by December 30.

Demonetisation: Currency situation has stabilised to a great extent, says Arun Jaitley

On the eve of end of the 50-day window of note ban on Friday, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that the currency situation has stabilised to a large extent. However, he didn't provide any indication on lifting restrictions on cash withdrawal from banks and ATMs.
