Odd-even scheme in Delhi to end today; No extension yet, air quality 'severe'
Even as the air pollution level in the Delhi-NCR region continues to remain in the 'severe' category on Friday morning, no call on the extension of the odd-even scheme has been made yet. This comes as Friday (November 15) is the last day of the scheme which began on November 4, in Delhi government's efforts to curb the alarming spikes in air pollution.

406 challans issued on third day of Odd-Even scheme in Delhi
Earlier on Tuesday, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had said that as many as 384 challans were issued till afternoon on the second day. 233 challans were issued on the first day of the road rationing scheme which will go on till November 15.

"There has been a high level of compliance by the people of Delhi. A total of 192 challans have been filed by the authorities till 2 pm; 170 by Delhi Traffic police; 15 by Transport department; and 7 by SDMs on the road," Sisodia told reporters at a press conference.

Justice Mishra asserted that on one hand the Delhi government, by using this scheme, has put a restriction on private cars but there is none on the autos and taxis. He added that these autos and taxis will ply and more and pollute equally. Justice Mishra stated that cars pollute less.
