Some people working like 'BJP mouthpiece': Mamata on Prez Rule in Maharashtra

Maharashtra was placed under President's Rule after none of the major parties - BJP, Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress - were able to stake claim to form government. On November 12, President Ram Nath Kovind signed the recommendation by Governor Koshyari to impose President's Rule in the state. "It's been 15 days and I see no party in condition to form a government," the Governor said in his report to the President.

NCP-Congress talks with Sena on but Maharashtra government not yet in sight

A few hours after President's Rule was imposed in Maharashtra, the Congress and NCP held a joint press conference where they claimed that they are formally engaging with the Shiv Sena for the first time to ensure a stable government. Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray too addressed the media on the political crisis in the state and admitted that since his party and the Congress-NCP combine had different ideologies, the talks between them was taking time.

Sena to file 2nd petition challenging imposition of Prez Rule in Maharashtra

Shiv Sena's lawyer Sunil Fernandes said that a second petition by the party challenging the imposition of President's Rule is being readied and will be filed after the discussion on it within the party. "Supreme Court registry has said they may mention the matter tomorrow before the court, for urgent hearing. Fresh/second petition challenging the imposition of President`s Rule is being readied. The decision on when to file it will be taken tomorrow," Fernandes said.
