Bar on transgenders from donating blood, Supreme Court seeks Centre's reply

The plea was filed by Thangjam Santa Singh, a resident of Manipur, through advocate Anindita Pujari. The petitioner contended that these guidelines were violative of the fundamental rights under Articles 14, 15 and 21 of the Constitution. The top court also declined to stay the guidelines of the Blood Donor Selection and Blood Donor Referral, 2017.

Supreme Court to hear pleas against demonetisation of notes on November 15

The Centre on Thursday filed a caveat in the Supreme Court that it be heard if the court entertains any petition on demonetisation of Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 notes even as the apex court indicated that it may hear on November 15 a plea challenging the government decision.
