Golfing champion Tiger Woods was hospitalized in Los Angeles on Tuesday (February 23) with severe leg injuries suffered when his car veered off a road and rolled down a steep hillside, requiring rescue crews to pry him from the wreckage, authorities said.

Golfer Tiger Woods hospitalised after being involved in car accident

The vehicle sustained major damage and Woods was extricated from the wreck with the "jaws of life" by firefighters and paramedics. He was then transported to a local hospital by ambulance, the Los Angeles County Sheriff`s Department said in a statement.
