The speed gun radar will be functioning over time when Lockie Ferguson’s 150 click thunderbolts meet its match in rising pace sensation Umran Malik’s toe-crushers as table-toppers Gujarat Titans clash with close-on-heels Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL on Wednesday.

The IPL newcomers are currently in the midst of a dream inception year with six wins from seven games at the halfway stage and are placed on top of the table.

Interestingly, the only loss that Titans suffered in its campaign so far was against Sunrisers in an earlier meeting and Hardik Pandya wouldn’t mind sweet revenge for that defeat.

MATCH REPORT!

Chasing a massive 196 to win, GT got off to a great start with Wriddhiman Saha going all guns blazing from the word go.

He smashed 68 off 38 balls but Shubman Gill had a bad day in office. Then began Umran Malik's show, who picked up his maiden five-wicket haul. He removed Gill, Hardik Pandya, David Miller, Saha and Abhinav Manohar to finish game with five wickets.

It appeared as if game was over for GT but Rashid Khan and Rahul Tewatia put on a quick 6th wicket stand to take Titans to a thrilling last-ball win. Earlier, Abhishek blazed away to 65 off 42 deliveries, while Markram made a 40-ball 56 during a third-wicket stand of 96 runs.

Umran Malik completes his maiden IPL five-for as he cleans up Abhinav Manohar with another yorker.

What a start from Gujarat Titans in the chase as Saha and Gill are going strong. Saha, in particular, has hit a flurry of boundaries.

Abhishek Sharma and Markram fifties took SRH to a good position but a few quick wickets put brakes on the innings. SRH have not been able to go past 200 but they have managed to score 195/6 at the end of 20 overs, thanks mostly to a brilliant finish by Shashank Singh who smashed three back to back sixes. 25 scored in the last over of the innings.
