New Delhi: Heart disease, also called cardiovascular disease, is a class of diseases that involve the heart or blood vessels. In other words, heart disease generally refers to conditions that involve narrowed or blocked blood vessels that can lead to a heart attack, chest pain (angina) or stroke.

 

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), heart disease is the leading cause of death in the UK, USA, Canada and Australia.

The CDC also estimates that most US adults have a heart age greater than their actual age. This increases their risk of having a heart attack or stroke.
