PM Narendra Modi clears doubts on OROP, says even those who took VRS are eligible

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated the Badarpur to Escorts Mujesar (Faridabad) line.

The extension of Delhi Metro till Faridabad, an industrial hub in Haryana, will ease commuting between both cities. Nearly 200,000 people travel between both cities daily, clogging the connecting roads, a Haryana government spokesman said.

There are nine stations in this section - Sarai, NHPC Chowk, Mewala Maharajpur, Sector 28, Badkal Mor, Old Faridabad, Neelam Chowk Ajronda, Bata Chowk and Escorts Mujesar - which is an extension of the Metro`s Violet Line, currently running from ITO to Badarpur.

All these stations are elevated and located on either side of the Delhi-Mathura Road (NH-2).

The project has been completed within the sanctioned cost of Rs. 2,494 crore. The metro line is 13.875 km long.
