Delhi Metro closes entry, exit gates of 10 stations ahead of 'chakka jam', check details

Gates of 10 metro stations have been shut by the DMRC in view of the three-hour-long nationwide 'Chakka Jam' call given by farmers. Entry and exit gates of Mandi House, ITO, Delhi Gate, Vishwavidyalaya station, Lal Quila are among the metro stations that have been closed by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation.

In the letter, New Delhi DCP asked the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to stay prepared to shut down a dozen metro stations, if the need arises, within a short notice. The DCP has said that given the circumstances of law and order and to control the crowd, the metro staff should be ready.

Earlier this morning, the Delhi Traffic Police issued an advisory that vehicular traffic was diverted at Akshardham for Noida and suggested an alternative routes. "Traffic will remain affected on Road no. 56 from ISBT Anand Vihar to Ghazipur due to closing of border," it tweeted.

The entry and exit gates of Samaypur Badli, Rohini Sector 18/19, Haiderpur Badli Mor, Jahangir Puri, Adarsh Nagar, Azadpur, Model Town, GTB Nagar, Vishwavidyalaya, Vidhan Sabha and Civil Lines were closed by the DMRC in the wake of Kisan Tractor Rally turning violent. Besides this, entry and exit gates of all stations on green line have been shuttered.

Republic Day 2021: These stations of Delhi Metro to remain closed on Jan 26, check list

In an advisory, the DMRC informed that services on HUDA City Centre-Samaypur Badli metro line will be partially regulated on Republic Day, while the gates of the Central Secretariat and Udyog Bhawan metro stations will remain closed until 12 noon. It added that the Central Secretariat station will only be used for interchange of passengers between Line 2 and Line 6.
