Hyderabad: A six-member gang of pseudo
Naxals, which allegedly abducted businessmen from Hyderabad
and Secunderabad and collected ransoms to the tune of several
lakhs, was on Tuesday apprehended, police said.
The Commissioner`s Task Force nabbed G Satyanarayana and
five others including a surrendered Jana Shakthi dalam member
Bhupathi, from a location here on charge of kidnapping
businessmen and indulging in extortion for the past five years
by operating in the name of Maoists, Hyderabad Police
Commissioner A K Khan told reporters.
Police seized one country made revolver, seven live
rounds, three air pistols, a car with fake number plate,
eight cell phones and Rs 1.02 lakh cash from their possession.
In pursuance of the conspiracy, Satyanarayana and five
others formed a gang and claimed themselves to be of
Subashanna dalam (squad).
After identifying the targets, the gang members used to
conduct recee of the targets and after kidnapping the victim,
they used to demand huge ransom from their family members, the
police commissioner said.
The gang members abducted a builder, school correspondent
(Principal), a RMO of a private hospital and businessmen under
four police stations limits, Khan added. Further
investigations were on.
