Aurangabad: Two children lost their lives after drowning in the pond of a temple in Aurangabad district of Bihar, a police official on Tuesday said.
The incident happened at the pond of a Sun temple at Mathpararia village in the district yesterday night and the two kids have been identified as Munna Kumar (9) and Guddu (8).
Kasma Station House Officer Arvind Kumar said, "Three kids entered the pond last night to play in water. They ventured towards the deeper part of the water body and started drowning. Hearing their screams, villagers rushed and managed to save one child. The other two lost their lives."
Kumar said the two bodies were taken out in the wee hours and the villagers conducted the last rites before they could be sent for post-mortem.
