CAF jawan injured in bomb blast in Chhattisgarh

A Chhattisgarh Armed Force jawan was on Wednesday injured in a pressure bomb blast triggered by Naxals in Murdunda forest of insurgency-hit Bijapur district.

Raipur: A Chhattisgarh Armed Force jawan was on Wednesday injured in a pressure bomb blast triggered by Naxals in Murdunda forest of insurgency-hit Bijapur district.

The blast took place under Awapalli police station limits?when a road opening party of CAF was conducting its task, Bijapur Additional Superintendent of Police Indira Kalyan Elesela told PTI.

While combing the forest, jawan Gangesh Yadav of CAF's 13 battalion accidentally came in contact with the pressure bomb planted by the ultras. In the blast, he suffered severe injuries on his legs and hands, he said.

Later, the jawan was shifted to a local hospital for treatment, he said.

A search operation has been launched in the region to nab the attackers, he said.

A jawan of the same CAF unit was injured yesterday in a landmine blast triggered by Naxals in Murdunda region.
