New Delhi: Congress on Tuesday declared the list of its candidates for the forthcoming Delhi University Teachers' Association (DUTA) elections.

Speaking to mediapersons here, Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken announced the list of party's seven candidates including the one for the post of DUTA president -- Sanjay Kumar from Zakir Husain College.

"We will raise voices of teachers at a time when black law like the Common University Bill and the common syllabus programme are being pushed.

"We will also raise voices against Choice Based Credit System (CBCS). These moves are against the interest of Delhi University and its autonomy. Our main aim is to protect the autonomy of the university and ensure its growth. We hope our candidates succeed in it," Maken said.

Former DUTA president Aditya Narayan Mishra, senior Congress leader Kiran Walia and the candidates were present during the briefing.
