Mukhtar Ansari remanded in judicial custody till June 26

A Delhi court has remanded independent UP MLA Mukhtar Ansari in judicial custody till June 26 in a MCOCA case for allegedly running an organised crime syndicate.

New Delhi: A Delhi court has remanded independent UP MLA Mukhtar Ansari in judicial custody till June 26 in a MCOCA case for allegedly running an organised
crime syndicate.

Ansari, also an accused in BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai
murder case in 2005, was produced before Additional Sessions
Judge Madhu Jain yesterday before the end of his 14 days
police custody.

The MLA was brought in the national capital from Agra
Jail on May 15 on a production warrant issued by the court.

Delhi police`s Special Cell had registered a case
under Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA)
against Ansari, inter-state gangster Munna Bajrangi and others
on November seven last year.

Bajrangi was arrested from Mumbai on October 29 last.

The court had allowed custodial interrogation of the
legislator till today to enable the investigators to unearth
the whole conspiracy relating to running of an alleged
organised gang in the national capital.
