School Nursery Yojana to be launched on Monday

 Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar will on Monday launch the School Nursery Yojana that aims to bring students closer to nature by involving them in raising saplings in nurseries created in school.

New Delhi: Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar will on Monday launch the School Nursery Yojana that aims to bring students closer to nature by involving them in raising saplings in nurseries created in school.

An official statement said the event will be held at the Talkatora indoor stadium, and around 2,500 students from over 50 schools across Delhi were likely to participate.

"The scheme will involve students from Class 6 to Class 9 in nursery activities and thus create an everlasting bond with plants and trees," the statement said.

"The ministry will support schools through the School Nursery Yojana to provide all essential facilities for raising of saplings for use of students and schools."
