In Punjab, Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala recorded maximum at 34.8 deg C, 34 deg C and 34.1 deg C respectively, MeT department report said.

Union Territory Chandigarh received marginal rainfall of 0.8 mm while city's maximum was 31.5 deg C.

In Haryana, Bhiwani had a high of 36.4 deg C while Ambala, Hisar and Narnaul settled at 33 deg C, 36 deg C and 33 deg C respectively.

The weather department predicted light to moderate rains at few places in the neighbouring states in the next 24 hours.
