Kuldeep Bishnoi receives threat letter demanding Rs 10 cr extortion money

Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) President Kuldeep Bishnoi has received a letter which allegedly demanded Rs ten crore as extortion money and threatened him that his 23-year-old son will be killed if the amount is not paid, police said on Thursday.

The letter was sent by post yesterday at Bishnoi's Hisar based house in Sector 15 A, they said.

Police said that the sender had written his name in the letter as "Baldeva of village Alupur, Tehsil Matloda in Panipat district".

In the letter it was written that his son Bhavya Bishnoi will be shot dead if the amount is not paid, police said quoting the contents of the letter.

The sender of the letter threatened Bishnoi of dire consequences if the matter was reported to police.

A case was today registered under Section 386 (extortion by putting a person in fear of death or grievous hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC against Baldeva on the basis of a complaint by Sanjay Gautam, the Private Secretary of Bishnoi.

Meanwhile, Kuldeep Bishnoi, who is also a sitting MLA of HJC, has demanded immediate stern action in the matter.
