Three things to know about Digvijay Singh's new wife - Amrita Rai

New Delhi: Journalist Amrita Rai last week announced that she got married to Congress leader Digvijay Singh as per Hindu rites and desired none of his property or belongings.

The couple tied the knot last month in Chennai as per Hindu rites.

Here are a few things you might want to know about the lady:

1. Amrita Rai currently works with Rajya Sabha TV. She was earlier employed with Zee News.
2. Amrita Rai's ex-husband Anand Pradhan is associate professor of journalism at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi.
3. Amrita Rai is 44-year-old, while Digvijay Singh is 68-year-old. Rai said she married for love.

Digvijay Singh, who is a Congress general secretary and a former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, had confirmed in April last year his relationship with Rai after some personal photographs of the couple were leaked online.
