Five killed in road mishap in Jammu

Jammu: Five members of a marriage party
were killed and 23 others injured when a bus skidded off the
road and fell into a deep gorge in Udhampur district Thursday.
The bus was on its way from Jammu to Ramnagar in
Udhampur district when the driver lost control over the
vehicle while negotiating a curve and rolled down a deep gorge
at Garnie village, 88 km from here, around 0130 hours, police
said.
Five people were killed on the spot and 23 others were
injured, two of them seriously, they said, adding army and
police launched a rescue operation and shifted the injured to
a hospital.
