LJP to contest 10 seats in Jharkhand assembly polls

LJP president Ramvilas Paswan on Tuesday said his party would have an alliance with the RJD, CPI and CPI(M) in Jharkhand assembly elections and contest for 10 of the total 81 seats in the state.

the total 81 seats in the state.

LJP would put up its candidates from Rajmahal, Ranchi,
Sindri, Dhanbad, Borio, Barhi, Mandu, Raj Dhanbar, Chatarpur
and Chandankyari assembly constituencies, Paswan told
reporters here.

Paswan said he made the announcement after consultations
with RJD chief Lalu Prasad and leaders of the Left parties.

Paswan also announced names of candidates for five
seats, including Rajmahal (Dhruv Bhagat), Srikrishna Mohan
Singh (Ranchi), Shailendra Narain trivedi (Sindri), and Bailal
Khan (Dhanbad).

He said he had no knowledge at this stage about the
number of seats his alliance partners would fight for the
five phase elections starting from November 25.
