Bhimsen Joshi`s disciple passes away

Dharwad: Pandit Madhavgudi, a Hindustani
vocalist of the `Kirana Gharana` and the first disciple of
Pandit Bhimsen Joshi passed away at a private hospital late
last night, family sources said.

Madhavgudi (80) was suffering from severe liver problems
for past one week and had been admitted to the hospital here,
they said.

A renowned musician, Madhavgudi had won national and
international accolades for his performances in India and
abroad.
