Mumbai: Fifteen cartridges and a mobile phone were found in a plastic bag under waste pile at a scrap shop in Amboli area of suburban Jogeshwari, police said Wednesday.

"As many as 15 bullets and a cellphone were discovered in a plastic bag at around 1.30 pm yesterday in dry wastage by Gopal Patel, at his Patel Paper Mart scrap shop in Jogeshwari. Gopal immediately notified the police and we seized them," Amboli police station's senior inspector Ramesh Khadtare said.

According to police, Patel regularly procures dry garbage for the purpose of his scrap business from the civic body vehicles that lift the waste from dustbins across the city, he said.

The bullets and mobile phone must have reached the scrap shop with the dry waste loads, he said.

The bullets have been sent to a forensic laboratory for ballistic analysis, he added.

Another officer said it was difficult to find out who dumped the bullets in the dustbin and from which place they reached the shop.
