Mumbai: A team of senior CBI officials
Tuesday met Maharashtra Chief Secretary JP Dange seeking
information in connection with the Adarsh Housing Society
scam.

The three-member team, led by CBI Regional Joint
Director Rishi Raj Singh, met Dange at the state secretariat.

"We met the chief secretary to seek certain documents
from various departments of the state government like MMRDA,
urban development, BEST, revenue and environment," Singh told
reporters.

"The inquiry is on and it is not appropriate for me to
speak in detail on the issue now," he said.

"The chief secretary has assured full cooperation and
said the documents would be submitted to us at the earliest,"
Dange said.

According to CBI sources, the team will also probe the
role of serving and retired state government officials in the
scam.

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said CBI should not
only act against defence officials in the Adarsh scam but also
against civil servants involved in the case.

"I feel that even after the 26/11 Mumbai attacks,
action was not taken against the officials.

"In this case (Adarsh) however, when the top leader
(CM) had to quit, what about the guilty officers," Pawar said.
