Advani renews pledge on Ayodhya on Rathyatra`s 20th anniv

Despite the temple issue failing to cut much ice with the voters of late, senior BJP leader LK Advani on Friday reaffirmed his commitment to building Ram temple at Ayodhya.

Somnath (Junagadh): Despite the temple issue
failing to cut much ice with the voters of late, senior BJP
leader LK Advani on Friday reaffirmed his commitment to building
Ram temple at Ayodhya.

"Today, I have come to Somnath to offer my prayers on
the 20th anniversary of my Rathyatra. Ram temple should be and
will be built at Ayodhya," Advani said after offering prayers
at the Somnath temple.
It was here on September 25, 1990, that he had
launched his Ram Rathyatra, which, though ending abruptly with
his arrest in Bihar, had put the BJP firmly on the road to
power.

"I visit Somnath every year this day and will continue
to do so until Ram temple comes up at Ayodhya," Advani said.

Accompanied by daughter Pratibha, Advani arrived at
the Keshod airport in Junagadh by a chartered flight this
morning and reached here by road from there.
The BJP leader also attended a Gujarat government
function for distribution of fortified flour to primary school
students.

Gujarat education minister, Ramanlal Vora, former BJP
MP from Junagadh Bhavna Chikhliya and other MPs and MLAs of
Saurashtra region accompanied Advani.
