New Delhi: A day after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) members fought a pitched battle in the national capital and in Lucknow, leaders of the principle opposition party on Thursday met Chief Election Commissioner VS Sampath to seek action against the new political outfit. BJP leaders Dr Harsh Vardhan, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Drand Nalin Kohli met the Election Commissioner. After meeting the EC, BJP spokesperson Naqvi told reporters that the party registered a complaint with the Commission against AAP and accused the new outfit of behaving like goons and having anarchist attitude. Meanwhile, some reports said that AAP members may also meet the EC later today to file a complaint against the BJP. Violent clashes were reported between AAP and BJP supporters from the national capital, Lucknow after former Delhi chief minister was detained in Gujarat during his road show. Reports also said that some clashes were reported from Allahabad and an effigy of BJP`s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi was also burnt in the Civil Lines area. The wind-shield of Kejriwal`s car was damaged when Gujarat BJP workers attacked his convoy in retaliation to the protests by AAP workers in front of BJP headquarters in Delhi. Kejriwal has undertaken a four-day tour of Gujarat to verify the development claims by Narendra Modi. The AAP supporters, who were protesting against Kejriwal`s detention in Radhanpur in north Gujarat assembled outside BJP head office on Ashoka Road in central Delhi, following which the BJP activists allegedly pelted stones at AAP members. Kejriwal on Wednesday accused the BJP of instigating violence in front of its headquarters in Delhi even as he apologised for some AAP activists "retaliating" while protesting his detention. Kejriwal claimed that AAP workers were first attacked by BJP supporters. Some of the agitated AAP workers had responded by pelting "two or three stones", he told reporters here. "I am sorry for the mistakes committed by the AAP workers. They should not have resorted to violence on my detention," he said.
